University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College
Since 1991, The University of Texas at Brownsville has been a member of The University of Texas System. In cooperation with Texas Southmost College, the University serves more than 12,000 students at its campus located in Brownsville, Texas. In Partnership with Texas Southmost College, a wide range of courses from Associate and Baccalaureate degrees to graduate classes and continuing education are offered at the University. At UTB/TSC, they are dedicated to stewardship, service, openness, accessibility, efficiency, and citizenship, and they are committed to excellence.
South Texas Vocational Technical Institute
For the last 30 years, South Texas Vo-Tech has been a leader in the field of Technical and Vocational training. Flexible class schedules and reasonable class sizes to allow students to go to work and school at the same time, and know that they are receiving great career training. They also work very hard to help students find jobs after they graduate, and financial aid to those who qualify. Brownsville Independent School District
The Brownsville Indepenent School District is the 17th largest school district in Texas. The total enrollment in 2003-04 was 45,986 students in 50 schools. They serve most of Brownsville, and a portion of the town of Rancho Viejo as well as unincorporated areas in Cameron County, including Cameron Park, Reid Hope King, San Pedro, South Point, and Villa Pancho. A portion of northern Brownsville is served by the Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District.
